During July 2018, Empire Painting was proud to transform the former Montage Furniture exterior in Delafield, Wis., for The Smiley Barn’s grand reopening in August. Watch the video below to see the dark and drab become bright and fab.

The Smiley Barn is a landmark in the Delafield community and beyond. The yellow first appeared on the barn siding in the 1970s, along with its famous smiley signage. As it changed hands, it changed color.

Empire Painting thoroughly scraped, sanded, and repaired the worn exterior surfaces. The cheerful yellow shade is Bee’s Wax SW 7682, the red accents are Bolero SW 7600, and the trim ties it all together in Creamy SW 7012.

Maria Luther purchased the barn in 2018 with plans to rekindle its nostalgic memories. Luther reached into the local community to find helpful hands. Paint supplied by Devine Paint & Decorating.
